Safety, Precautions, and Contraindications

Do Not Use Serenity If You

  • Are under 18 years of age.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, hearing implant, or another implanted electronic device.
  • Have a metallic implant in the head or neck.
  • Have epilepsy.
  • Have a serious heart condition.
  • Have broken, irritated, infected, or severely inflamed skin at either electrode placement site.

Consult a Healthcare Professional Before Use If You

  • Have a neurological disorder.
  • Have a cancerous lesion or are receiving treatment for cancer.
  • Are under medical supervision for a serious illness.
  • Have another condition that may make electrical stimulation unsuitable.

General Warnings

  • Use Serenity only as described in this manual.
  • Do not use while driving, operating machinery, sleeping, bathing, or near water.
  • Do not use while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not place the clips on broken or irritated skin.
  • Do not increase intensity to the point of pain or discomfort.
  • Keep the device and accessories out of reach of children.
  • Do not use a damaged, wet, contaminated, swollen, or unusually hot controller, cable, or clip.

Stop Immediately

Stop the session immediately if you experience pain, severe skin irritation, headache, dizziness, nausea, loss of balance, or any unexpected symptom. Remove the clips and seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before using Serenity again.

Environmental Precautions

  • Use the device only in a dry indoor environment.
  • Protect the controller and accessories from water, high humidity, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
  • Disconnect the charging cable before a session.
